Hi, Dr. Steve Sisskind here.
I want to tell you about a potent, new, clinically proven probiotic that can help you optimize your gut microbiome and improve your whole body health.
But before I do that, I have to warn you about a serious problem that I see in almost all probiotic products on the market today.
I became aware of this problem a few years ago, when I walked into a Vitamin Shoppe, looking to buy a probiotic for myself.
First off, the number of choices on the shelf was overwhelming — there were at least 50 or 100 different bottles and boxes there.
On the front, they all said the same thing: digestive health, friendly bacteria, immune system support.
However, when I looked at the labels, they all had different information. Different bacterial species. Different strains. Different dosages.
Even as a medical doctor, I was lost. I didn't know which one to pick, which one was the highest quality, which one offered the best value. All I could see was fancy marketing and price points. If you've ever tried shopping for probiotics you'll know how I felt — it's almost impossible to choose
All these probiotic products claim they are natural, high quality, and have big health benefits. But figuring out whether that’s true or not, and which probiotic to actually take, that’s where it gets tricky.
Well, I’ve done a lot of research since then. And I’ve examined the products themselves. What I’ve discovered is pretty shocking. Here’s the ugly truth:
Many of the probiotics you find both in stores and online don’t do anything
The problem starts at the most basic level, with the ingredients. You see, most companies are just putting unnamed, generic strains of probiotics into their products. Let me explain what this means with a familiar analogy involving a couple of dogs.
You probably know what a doberman looks like, and what a chihuahua looks like. Both these dog breeds are actually members of the same species, Canis familiaris.
Do these dogs look the same to you?
Of course not
All dogs are not the same just like not all ingredients are the same.
But over the course of many generations, dobermans and chihuahuas have been bred into wildly different animals, so that one of them makes a ferocious guard dog, while the other can fit in a purse.
The exact same thing is going on with probiotic bacteria.
There are popular species such as Bifidobacterium lactis. But over the course of thousands of generations, these species have been separated into very different strains, and each of the strains has its own unique characteristics and benefits.
In other words, when you hear of a probiotic species like Bifidobacterium lactis, that’s like saying that a friend owns a dog. It’s only once you talk about named strains of that species (such as BI-04 or Bi-07) that you know whether somebody owns a doberman or a chihuahua.
Does this matter? Yes, it really does, and here’s a quick example why.
Same species, different strains, and very different outcomes
One double-blind, placebo-controlled study 1 from 2014 looked at two strains of Bifidobacterium lactis and their ability to reduce upper respiratory inftections.
One of the strains (BI-04) did very well — it reduced upper respiratory infections by 27%. Pretty impressive, considering there are no medications that reliably prevent these kinds of infections.
On the other hand, the other strain (Bi-07) did absolutely nothing. It had zero effect and was no better than placebo. Even though it was the same species as the first strain, this second strain was basically useless.
You can see now why I compare this to the difference between a doberman and a chihuahua. You simply can’t pick a random strain of a species like Bifidobacterium lactis and be sure it’s going to do anything for your health, just like you wouldn’t ask a chihuahua to guard your home against an armed intruder.
Over 99% of “promising”
probiotic strains fail to deliver
But maybe you’re thinking that I’m nitpicking, and that if you get a probiotic with a dozen different species, at least some of those strains will do something. Let me show you why the odds are unfortunately against you.
A study 2 from 2008 looked at 567 potential probiotic strains, isolated from people who had healthy gut flora.
The scientists screened these strains according to a few simple characteristics that would actually make useful, practical probiotics — things like being able to survive the acidic environment of the stomach, being able to stick around the GI tract long enough to have an effect, and having some power to stop the spread of bad bacteria in the gut.
Pretty simple criteria, right? And yet, of the 567 potential probiotic strains, exactly 3 fulfilled these simple requirements. That means that 99.4% of "promising" probiotic strains did not satisfy even the most basic requirements for an actual probiotic.
In other words, if you're choosing a probiotic that does not have clear clinical proof that it works, the odds are seriously against you, and you are probably just wasting your money.
How many billion CFU???
Unfortunately, this kind of careless use of unproven, generic strains is actually the norm of the current probiotic market.
Many commercially available probiotic strains are only there because it's convenient and cheap for ingredient suppliers to manufacture them. They are not chosen because they are well-adapted to the human GI tract, or because they have any health benefits.
Incredibly, this doesn't seem to bother many supplement companies. A lot of them go to an off-the-shelf manufacturer, take a pre-formulated blend of probiotics they know nothing about, stick their label on it, and try to sell it.
All these companies care about is being able to say their probiotic has 20 or 30 billion CFU and a bunch of different strains.
But if you ask them why they chose those particular strains or dosages, they won't be able to tell you. They might not even know which named strains are inside. And as you can imagine, there’s no science or research behind any of this.
We insist on knowing where our food comes from. We insist on it being fresh. Why should our probiotics be any different?
You wouldn't go to the supermarket and buy a bunch of rusty cans labeled "MYSTERY MEAT" to feed yourself and your family.
After all, who knows what's inside, how it's been processed, and how your stomach will react to it. But if we don't accept this level of quality in our food, why do we have to accept "MYSTERY MEAT" when it comes to probiotics?
When I was looking for a probiotic for myself, I personally found this situation unacceptable.
On the one hand, the science is clear: improving our gut health means eliminating all sorts of nasty digestive problems, as well as realizing far-reaching health benefits — everything from getting our immune system working properly to improving our mood and boosting our energy levels.
On the other hand, most probiotics do nothing to actually deliver on this promise. They only contain generic strains that offer no health benefits. On top of this, many probiotics are poorly produced and packaged. Some don’t even have any live cultures inside.
I was determined to find a way to fix this, and I did
Why don’t we make probiotics that actually work? All we would have to do is to follow a simple plan:
1. Start with effective, scientifically proven, named probiotic strains
2. Deliver them at the clinically proven dose
3. Use a manufacturing and packaging process that ensures the probiotic cultures actually get to the consumer live, fresh, and active
So that’s just what I decided to do.
At this point, I feel I should tell you a bit about myself.
Like I said, my name is Dr. Steve Sisskind. I’m a real doctor — I got my M.D. from one of the top medical schools in the country, Baylor College of Medicine. I also have a B.A. from Stanford University, and a Master's in manufacturing engineering from UCLA.
It's this background that allows me to speak with confidence when I say most probiotics are a waste of money — and that we can do much better.
You see, I'm also the founder of a nutritional supplement company called RealDose Nutrition, which has been in business since 2011.
At RealDose we offer a simple but pretty revolutionary proposal: "The right ingredients at the real dose." What this means is that our products only include ingredients that have been clinically proven in human studies, at the exact dosage that's been proven to be effective.
Our mission at RealDose has always been to make top-quality products we would be happy to take ourselves and to share with our families.
To do this, we gather massive amounts of scientific information, sift through it with a critical eye, and then spare no expense to create products that actually deliver on their promise. This approach has been very successful for us — we have over 360,000 satisfied customers so far.
RealDose Is Changing The Industry”
"I have been around the nutritional supplement industry for 23 years, and rarely if ever have I seen a company that pays as much attention to the science. RealDose's commitment to the right ingredients at the real dose is not only impressive, but already changing the industry."
— Dr. Jonny Bowden, PhD, C.N.S.
Since I knew that gut health is so important, and since nobody was making a probiotic I personally believed in, I decided to apply this same approach and create a probiotic I would be happy to take myself.
The first thing, as with every other product at RealDose, was to look at the science. This meant reading a lot of science papers and attending a lot of supplement industry trade shows to talk to probiotic suppliers.
With each supplier, I asked a series of questions:
1. Tell me about your probiotic
2. Show me the scientific studies behind your specific strain
3. Tell me about the dosage that's required to see those effects
At this point, a lot of suppliers would hem and haw: "Oh, we don't really have scientific studies on our specific strain. We just know that the species has these benefits." As soon as I heard this, I'd say, "Thank you very much — but I'm not interested."
By now, I think you understand why I’d say this. Without scientific studies on each exact strain, I knew that I’d probably be getting some mystery bacterial soup that probably doesn’t do anything.
I kept talking to suppliers, reading the scientific research, and eliminating strain after strain that simply didn't have sufficient backing to convince me that it's actually a worthwhile probiotic.
It was a long and trying journey, because there are hundreds of commercially available strains, and most of them are simply not good enough.
The entire process took over 2 years.
In the end though, I had a collection of highly validated probiotic strains with proven and impressive health benefits.
Armed with this research, I knew I really could create a powerful probiotic that actually works. And after finding the highest-grade manufacturing and packaging processes, I was able to actually get these strains into a product that I would be happy to take myself.
The result of all this work, which I want to share with you right now, is called RightBiotics Rx:
In a nutshell, RightBiotics is a professional-strength probiotic, which contains 10 ID-verified, named, scientifically validated probiotic strains, for a total of 22 billion CFU.
The strains inside RightBiotics have been proven in human clinical studies for a range of benefits, which I’ll tell you about in a second. Each strain is included in RightBiotics at the same dosage as in the clinical studies.
Clinically shown to fortify the body's natural immune defense12
Clinically shown to increase levels of beneficial/friendly bacteria in the intestine with continued use13
Clinically shown to help balance gut microflora18
Guaranteed perfect freshness and effectiveness
all the way up to two years!
When you take RIGHTBIOTICS, you’ll know that it’s actually working.
Put together, these simple but powerful features set RIGHTBIOTICS apart
from every other product on the market.
Let me tell you about each of these points in a bit more detail.
“Finally, the probiotic I’ve been looking for”
“I was so happy to find out about this product from a friend. This is the first probiotic I've found that meets all my requirements. I'm an adventure travel writer and visit many remote places, often in the developing world, and need something that doesn't require refrigeration.
“I also wanted something pharmaceutical grade, with clinical evidence behind it. And something that didn't cause stomach aches. The RealDose Nutrition probiotic passed with flying colors. And here's something interesting: Since starting this probiotic, I've noticed that I have fewer food cravings, and haven't been as hungry — I think these probiotics are making a big difference in how efficiently my digestive system is operating.”
— Jayme Moye, Boulder, CO
Clinically proven to both prevent and relieve ugly digestive problems
All the strains in RightBiotics contribute to a good, balanced, diverse digestive environment. However, a few of them stand out specifically for treating unpleasant digestive problems.
To start, RightBiotics contains a bacterial strain called Lactobacillus helveticus LAFTI L10.
A study 11 from 2005 found that this strain, used at a dosage of 5 billion CFU, significantly reduced diarrhea, constipation, bloating, and stomach cramps in otherwise healthy adults.
And it improved all these digestive problems within just one week. That means that even if you've been suffering from digestive issues for years, relief could be just days away.
“Putting the good bacteria back in”
“The RightBiotics are helping me tremendously. I am on antibiotics for an infection and the probiotics is helping put the good bacteria back in me. A real blessing.”
Bev S., United States
But that's not all. RightBiotics also contains a strain called Bifidobacterium longum BB536.
Here's the background: A double-blind, randomized study 20 from 2007 gave 2 billion CFU of this strain, mixed in yogurt, to 50 healthy adults. The scientists compared this to what happened with just plain yogurt. And the results were impressive.
When people ate the yogurt with BB536 (compared to just plain yogurt) they "went" much more regularly, their stool was softer, and the odor tended to decrease. I’m sorry about the graphic detail, but I think it's important to illustrate that this stuff really works, and works even better than taking a food-based probiotic such as yogurt.
A third strain found in RightBiotics, Saccharomyces boulardii Gnosis, was similarly studied and clinically shown to promote regularity and prevent antibiotic-associated diarrhea 25 and traveler’s diarrhea 24. And because this strain is actually a natural yeast, it works even if you are currently taking gut-ravaging antibiotics that turn your stomach into a gurgling, rumbling mess.
“The best probiotic I’ve had to date!”
“I dare say this is the best probiotic I've had to date! I've had MANY! This one I can even credit for a flatter stomach as whatever I ingest, seems to be fully processed and completely digested so things just pass through very smoothly. I'm very pleased.”
- JD, United States
And here's something I want to emphasize. These scientific studies aren't just showing that probiotics in general might help with digestive problems. This is specific evidence about the strains and dosages that are available to you right now inside RightBiotics.
In other words, if you’re currently suffering from digestive issues, whether that’s painful bloating and cramps, or antibiotic-caused diarrhea, or constipation that lasts for days, then you should give RightBiotics a try, because the strains inside have been clinically proven to deal with those exact problems.
Fewer respiratory infections with milder symptoms
Of course, your gut does much more than just digestion. For one thing, it’s home to 60% of the total immune cells in your body. This means your intestines play a huge role in how well your overall immune system works.
Well, here's the good news. Scientists have studied specific strains of probiotic bacteria, and they've identified which ones can help your immune system.
For example, there’s the study 1 from 2014 that I touched on earlier. It looked at two different strains of Bifidobacterium lactis. One strain they examined was B. lactis B1-04 (at 2 billion CFU), while the other was B. lactis Bi-07 (at 5 billion CFU).
These strains might seem similar based on their names, and that's why the results of this study are so surprising. You see, The first strain, B1-04, resulted in a significant 27% reduction in upper respiratory infections. These are infections that cause symptoms like a sore throat, coughing, a stuffy, runny nose, and sneezing.
What the researchers found is that with this particular strain at this particular dose, your odds of getting sick in this way dropped significantly. But here's the interesting thing. The other strain, Bi-07, didn't do anything to reduce respiratory illnesses. In other words, same species of probiotic bacteria, higher dosage, but no effect.
Generic strains and high CFU counts don’t mean much without the science to back them up
This is why I keep insisting on the importance of ID-verified, proven probiotic strains. It's why I insist on getting the dosage right. And it's also why RightBiotics includes the powerful and proven Bifidobacterium lactis B1-04 strain, at exactly 2 billion CFU.
“Better than the 60 Billion probiotics”
“I believe the RightBiotics RX was indeed better than the 60 Billion probiotics I have taken in the past. I wish to order the product on an automatic basis.”
— Cynthia Heelan, United States
The immune benefits of RightBiotics don't stop there. Remember the L. helveticus LAFTI L10 strain I mentioned above?
Well, a study 16 of 285 adult subjects looked at the immune effects of this strain. They found that compared to placebo, LAFTI L10 reduced severe symptoms of the cold and flu. It also reduced the need for medication by 23%.
When you put all these facts together, the conclusion is simple: if you want to reduce your chances of sniffling and being bedridden and feeling miserable the next time your entire family comes down with a nasty bug, then consider RightBiotics, because it has the science to back it up for real immune support.
A probiotic benefit you won’t find anywhere else
And here's a really surprising benefit of RightBiotics. This not something you hear about often when scientists discuss gut health. And yet, as with all the other benefits of RightBiotics, it's been proven by clinical human studies.
So what exactly am I referring to?
Well, the Bacillus subtilis DE111 strain in RightBiotics has been shown to control blood lipids and blood glucose. In a study 18 from 2015, this strain reduced fasting glucose levels and prevented blood lipids from rising.
This means that for people who took this particular strain, blood glucose levels and lipids stayed in the healthy level, in contrast to people who were not taking this probiotic. And since elevated levels of blood glucose and lipids can spell a whole host of health problems, this makes Bacillus subtilis DE111 a very exciting addition to RightBiotics.
A second surprising but proven effect of RightBiotics is due to Bacillus coagulans Lactospore, a strain that we've included at 360 million CFU. One study 3 showed that this dosage reduced total blood cholesterol by 32% and LDL cholesterol by a whopping 35%.
When I read this study, I was pretty amazed, because cholesterol levels aren’t something that’s often discussed in connection with gut health. And yet, the science is there to back it up.
Together, these two strains in RightBiotics provide proven benefits for reducing cholesterol and controlling blood glucose and blood lipid levels. This is something few other probiotics product would dare ever say. For RightBiotics, however, I can shout about it all day long, simply because we have the clinical studies to back up each of these claims.
The clinical dose, even on the day they expire
And here's something I alluded to earlier.
The specific strains in RightBiotics are included at the exact dosage that was proven to be effective in clinical studies. Some of the strains in RightBiotics are included at 5 billion CFU, some at 2 billion, some at only 360 million. The dosage depends entirely on what the science says, rather than as a marketing ploy to boast of the biggest CFU count.
Actually, RightBiotics includes a little more of each strain than the clinically proven dose. This is done so that, even at the end of 2 years, you will still get the full, clinically effective dose.
A lot of companies would never go to this extent. However, I wanted to do everything possible to create the absolute best product on the market, which gives you the best shot of enjoying all the benefits that probiotics can offer.
“I have tried multiple probiotics. This one is hands down the very best.”
- Donna H., United States
The technology to tie everything together
Of course, choosing the right ingredients is only the first step of making a complete product. The best ingredients won't matter much if they are ruined in the manufacturing process.
That's why RightBiotics is manufactured in the U.S. in a high-end manufacturing facility, which is NSF-certified, inspected by the FDA, and CGMP-validated.
This facility works with some of the largest supplement brands with the best reputation, and they have a manufacturing system that is specifically designed for probiotics.
A major part of this environment is that the ingredients are never exposed to air, which would spell death for probiotic bacteria. Instead, they are only in contact with nitrogen, which is inert and will not oxidize, damage, or kill the sensitive bacterial cultures.
“Great NATURAL product”
“My experience so far with Right Biotics has been Wonderful. Another Great NATURAL product instead of Guess and try.”
Jan J., Australia
The next step is the encapsulation system. Each daily dose of RightBiotics comes in a targeted-delivery capsule, which ensures the probiotics survive the harsh environment of the stomach and make it into the small intestine. After all, you can have the best probiotics, but without the right delivery system, they will be useless because they will get destroyed by stomach acid.
As for packaging, we don’t just drop RightBiotics capsules into a bottle with a little desiccant packet. Instead, each RightBiotics capsule is packaged separately, in a double-foil aluminum blister pack under a nitrogen blanket.
This packaging acts like a mini Thermos bottle, and protects the RightBiotics capsules against heat, air, and moisture. This means RightBiotics don’t need to be refrigerated, and you can take them with you even if you are going for a canoe trip down the Amazon.
Finally, even though RightBiotics is resilient to heat because of their unique packaging, we make sure they are stored in a climate-controlled facility rather than an overheated warehouse. This way, they arrive to your door fresh, alive, and ready to do their work.
Better digestion, better immune system, better energy levels, better health
I take RightBiotics myself every day, and I’m very proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish with this product. I can say without hesitation that RightBiotics is the best probiotic on the market, because I did all this work for 2 years to make sure it actually is the best.
If you’d like to try out RightBiotics for yourself, there are few things to know. We manufacture RightBiotics in small, controlled batches because we are absolutely committed to quality and freshness. Because of this, it can happen we run out of stock if we get a large surge in orders.
That’s why, if you are interested in trying RightBiotics, you should act now, while we have supplies of the current batch. All you have to do is pick one of the following options:
1 month's supply of RightBiotics, equal to 30 capsules to be taken once a day, for only $37. This comes to just $1.23 per day.
3 months’ supply of RightBiotics, equal to 90 capsules to be taken once a day, for only $102. This saves you $9 and comes to $1.13 per day.
6 months’ supply of RightBiotics, equal to 180 capsules to be taken once a day, for only $186. This saves you $18 and comes to $1.03 per day.
Whichever option you choose to get, your RightBiotics are guaranteed to be fresh, live, and active for 2 years from the time of manufacture. This gives you plenty of time to try RightBiotics for yourself and see whether they are as good as I say.
“I noticed a change in my digestion right away”
“I noticed a change in my digestion right away. I am so happy to find a probiotic that is made with care and science in mind. I also appreciate the packaging and the fact that I do not have to refrigerate it. I would suggest printing a number 1 through 30 on the packaging of each capsule to help the user know which day of the month they are on. I skipped a couple days and ended up using a marker to number mine. Wonderful product!”
— Lori G.
